Our festival is unique in Norway being the only comedy festival covering all genres from stand up to caricatures and from street theatre to musicals, with 17 years’ of history behind us. During these years we had the pleasure of having visit of artist like: Jo Brand, Craig Charles, Harry Hill, Bill Bailey, Puppetry of the Penis, The Umbilical Brothers, Tim Minchin, Gamarjobat, Natural Theatre Company and Steve Hughes. The festival gives you some of the funniest performers from our region and abroad.
The Great Norwegian Comedy Festival 2010 will take place in and around Stavanger and Sandnes from the 6th to the 10th of October 2010. This year we will recieve a proper comedy star from Irland: ED BYRNE!

This evening will present probably the best artists from Norway and Irland, when we couple uplocal legend, Hans Morten Hansen and one of the hottest comedians from overseas, Ed Byrne. ALL ENGLISH and ALL OVER FUNNY!
Ed Byrne is Irish stand up comedian and voice over artist. He has presented television shows Uncut! Best Unseen Ads and Just For Laughs, and is a regular guest on various television panel games.
He is an Edinburgh Festival Fringe favourite and has performed six sell-out shows at the Festival, and three sell-out tours across the UK. Byrne has also been warmly received abroad, performing to huge audiences in Canada, France, Australia, New Zealand and the US. His chatty style of observational comedy and colourful anecdotes appeals to most audiences, occasionally veering off into innovative ideas and threads.
In 1998, Ed was nominated for the prestigious Perrier Comedy Award at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. He has appeared in the well known LIVE AT THE APOLLO which is also broadcasted in Norway, on NRK 3. Ed has since garnered a raft of major broadcast credits, including five US appearances on Late Night With Conan O'Brien (NBC).
Ed recorded his new live DVD "Different Class" at The Kings, Glasgow on Monday 23 March 2009, which was released on the 23rd of November, 2009. Ed appeared on The Graham Norton Show on BBC One alongside Robert Downey Jr. and Will Young to promote his DVD. The show is also broadcasted in Norway, on TV Norge.
